One In A Million Alternative Education Provision staff teach a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, social development of all learners. This is expressed through our values: compassion, honesty, integrity and excellence. Though we have a small team, the school accesses support through its relationships with the charity, One In A Million Free School and a variety of external agencies. Meet the team:
Paddy Gallagher (Principal):
As both a qualified classroom practitioner and a senior leader, Paddy possesses extensive and invaluable experience of working with young people disengaged from traditional mainstream education. He has consistently demonstrated an ability to connect with learners and to secure positive educational outcomes for young people. Paddy is passionate about the value of education and the difference it can make in the lives of young people.
Fiona Devenney (Teacher):
Over the last nine years, Fiona has excelled in a range of roles both within and outside of mainstream education including; cover supervisor, progress coach and full time qualified classroom teacher. Fiona’s expertise lies with Functional Skills, but she is also experienced in delivering PSHCE and Humanities programmes to learners who welcome and value her innovative planning and delivery style.
Chris Davison (Teacher):
Chris brings a range of experience and skills to One In A Million. He has worked with young people in a variety of settings as a classroom teacher, climbing and high ropes director, a photography and art specialist and a sports club leader. Chris’s passion for sport, the arts and the outdoors exudes through a positive and enthusiastic approach with the young people at One In A Million.
Andy Bako (Learning Coach):
Andy has been a valued member of the One In A Million family for over 5 years. Not only making an enthusiastic and creative contribution in the Alternative Provision, but also as a Community Youth Activator, successfully managing a range of sporting, creative and cultural events within the local community.
TJ Stokes (Learning Coach):
TJ possesses over 6 years experience of working within One In A Million, where he has enjoyed a variety of roles and settings. He is a confident and upbeat team member who has engaged with young people in Youth Clubs, Community Centres and as part of the Alternative Provision support team.
