BREAKING NEWS: Clarky Reaches Everest Base Camp!!

24th November 2017. One In A Million supporter Richard Clarke (‘Clarky’), has just completed a gruelling 15 day charity trek up Everest Base Camp to raise money for One In A Million Charity.

It's a journey he has wanted to do for some time and after arrangements were put in place, he decided to try and raise some money to support disadvantaged children and young people while undertaking a ‘bucket list’ challenge of a lifetime.

On completion of the trek, Richard said: “Wow, I have finally made it to Everest Base Camp, what a privilege to see the worlds highest mountain right in front of us, it is quite a sight! During the last 15 days we have trekked up to 6-9 hours per day in some very tough conditions at high altitude! It has been hot through the day and freezing at night, trekking through some gruelling terrain! But it's now time to celebrate, we made it to Everest Base Camp!! Thank you to all who have donated to One In A Million and cheered me on along the way! I am well chuffed!”.

His fundraising total currently stands at an incredible £1450, but he's hoping to raise as much as he can for One In A Million Charity to help young people achieve their goals and open up new opportunities.

One In A Million co-founder Wayne Jacobs, said: "Everyone at One in A Million would like to congratulate Richard on reaching Mount Everest, the worlds highest mountain. We would like to say a huge thank you to Richard and everyone who has generously donated to support the work of One In A Million and our quest to improve the lives of Bradford’s children and young people".

There is still time to support Richard. You can do this by making a donation via our justgiving page or simply text ‘RCEV99 £10 to the number ‘70070’.
