Our sports offer consists of a wide range of sporting activities both in community and across our two schools however our flagship sports consist of football, cricket, rugby and athletics.

  • OIAM Indoor Sportshall Athletics has been running since 2007 led by Toks Adeniji, our head coach, along with all the deeply committed volunteers. In 2010, it became affiliated with UK Athletics. Since then it has gone onto win England Athletics ‘Development Club of the Year for Yorkshire and Humberside’ and head coach Toks Adeniji won ‘Development Club Coach of the Year’ for the region.
  • OIAM Streetwise Football is our Friday night twilight project, which is run in partnership with West Yorkshire Police. Projects are delivered in each of the 5 constituencies of Bradford with up to 250 young men attending weekly. Each 12 week project is themed with a social topic such as ‘Kick It Out’, ‘Show Racism the Red Card’, ‘Say Nope To Dope’ and ‘Commit to be Fit’. Since its start on 6th May 2006, Streetwise has won the ‘Barclays Community Sports Award’ by Barclays Spaces for Sports, the Premier League’s Creating Chances programme and the Football Foundation.
  • Cricket is among the top 3 options from over 15 activities chosen by students who take part in our Free School enrichment programme. Our community partners Yorkshire Cricket Foundation have delivered a full range of cricket enrichment (taster) programmes at each of our 5 community hubs. A collective group of young people from each of our Hubs even had the opportunity to form a guard of honour at a recent Cricket international ‘Twenty/20’ fixture at Headlingley, Leeds.
  • Rugby is extremely popular among the children and young people in and out of school thanks to the quality of delivery provision from our principal community partner Bradford Bulls Foundation. As part of this experience they are given tickets to go and watch the professionals play first team matches at the Odsal Stadium.
