Health & Social

OCR National in Health and Social Care

This GCSE equivalent is a four unit course. Three units of the course will be coursework based and 1 unit is exam based.  Two units will be completed in yr10 and two in Yr11. If your child enjoys coursework, has a good level of written English and enjoys research then they may find this course a better option than a GCSE.

To ensure the course is robust and as stretching as a GCSE, every Cambridge National has an exam, which will last 1 1/2 hrs. Your child will have two opportunities to take the exam, January and June in Yr11.

It explores the Health Care, Social Care and Early Years Industry sectors and is an excellent starting point for anyone who wants to work in these fields and has direct progression in to Post 16 Courses.
