At One In A Million we believe ‘it takes a community to raise a child’. One of the ways you can play your part in making a difference is by volunteering for our charity.
We don’t think there’s such thing as a ‘typical volunteer’ – we welcome people from all walks of life, and benefit greatly from drawing on their skills and life experiences and whether it be a few hours a week or an hour a day.
Volunteering for One In A Million is extremely rewarding and has multiple benefits.
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your CV, gain experience for your future career or simply have a desire to give back to the community, we’re confident that an opportunity will exist within One In A Million for you. These opportunities include volunteering:
- at our fundraising events (ranging from set-up, marshalling, driving a minibus etc)
- in the office (bring your skills to make a difference)
- out in the community*.
During the last year, the number of volunteer hours dedicated to OIAM community projects and fundraising events for the year was over 10,200 hour’s (an increase of 28% on the previous year).
All voluntary contribution has a significant impact socially, economically and environmentally towards positively improving the life chances of Bradford’s children and young people.
Why not get in touch with us today and let us know how you can help!
* Please note: all volunteers who support us in the office or out in community will be subject to enhanced DBS checks prior to working with children, even if they currently have a DBS. It is the One In A Million’s policy to complete new ones with all new volunteers and staff.
