GCSE’s: Congratulations to everyone!

OIAM Free School (OIAMFS) is a small secondary school with students who have a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and academic targets stretching from 1s all the way to 9s. Against a challenging national backdrop that saw students taking harder new GCSEs in English and Maths we are delighted to report a pleasing GCSE performance that confirms that many of our students have met and surpassed these targets, that the school’s ethos and approach is on the right track. This also confirms the judgements found in the Good OFSTED inspection earlier in the year.

It is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our students and staff that the school has achieved so much this year.

Principal, Philip Grant “It gives me huge pleasure to congratulate all of our students on their fantastic achievements.  The success of our students is down to their hard work, resilience and exceptional effort – we are extremely proud of them all.  These results are also a tribute to the superb teachers at OIAMFS who, year after year, give huge amounts of additional time, support and guidance whenever it is needed.  I feel very privileged to lead such an inspiring school community”.

We are proud that over a third of our Year 11 students achieved a grade 4 and above in Maths, just under a third of our students achieved a Grade 4 and above in English and around a quarter achieved a grade 4 and above in both English and Maths. Combined with the excellent opportunities and support the students receive at the school the majority of our students can now progress to post-16 study with 98% students already securing positive post 16 study options.

Whilst we are very proud of the achievements of all of our students, within these results there are some exceptional individual performances that deserve particular mention.
Some standout individual performances include Mohammed Younis and Finn Payton who both did exceptionally well. Both Mohammed and Finn take up bursary places at Woodhouse Grove from this September.

Congratulations Year 11 and thank you to all our staff who have worked tirelessly to ensure that every student achieves their very best.
