OIAMFS students contribute to regeneration project.

At the beginning of the year, One In A Million Free School were approached by Born In Bradford, one of the largest research studies in the World, to participate in a regeneration project in the city.

A group of students were selected who have BD8 postcodes or live nearby. They were asked to give their honest views on Bradford. Students and staff walked into the city centre and visited the market, which is going to relocated further into the centre itself. The student were asked what they thought should happen when this space becomes vacant? They gave a variety of enthusiastic responses including, a recreational park, an entertainment venue and a square where people could meet for social and community gatherings. Students were also asked to take photographs of buildings that they thought were innovative, fitted presented, or could be visually improved as part of the regeneration of the city centre.

The students really enjoyed their experience and commented that they felt empowered to be able to share their opinions on their city.

Thank you Born In Bradford for providing an opportunity for the young people of our city to contribute to its future! We look forward to further involvement as the regeneration progresses.
