If you have already applied to Bradford College:
We know that this year you may be concerned about the impact of COVID-19 on your studies.
There is a place for you at Bradford College and we will support you all the way through this next stage of your studies – we will be in touch with you personally at many times throughout this difficult period and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Depending on the results you achieve this summer, you will be offered a place on one of the levels listed below, (if you do better than you expected in your exams you will be offered a higher level course, and if you don’t achieve what you are hoping for you will be offered a lower level course):
- Entry 3/Level 1 Progression to Learning and Work Entry Requirements:
Our Level 1 or Foundation Level courses allow you to gain basic skills and provide a good introduction to your chosen subject and the world of work. You will combine practical hands-on activities, project work and key skills.
- Level 2 Entry Requirements - 4 GCSEs Grade 3 or above Including Maths and English Language. Level 2 courses are intermediate and equivalent to GCSEs or First Diploma Level, they provide an opportunity to get qualifications that will prepare you for study at a higher level. You will learn vocational and academic skills alongside practical and hands-on activities, including project work.
- Level 3 Entry Requirements: 4 GCSEs Grade 4 or above including Maths and English Language
Level 3 is equivalent to A Levels or Extended Diploma Level; studying at this level can be challenging with courses offering solid preparation for a career or further studies, including apprenticeships and degree level study
We aim for all learners to achieve a Level 3 qualification at College, either by starting at Level 3 or progressing through the levels. Your journey to a Level 3 qualification will start at a level that best suits you. Achieving a Level 3 qualification will equip you with the skills and training to progress into an apprenticeship, move on to Higher Education including progression to degree level courses offered at Bradford College University Centre, or to secure employment.
All existing applicants will have already received a letter from a dedicated Admissions Officer. This letter will explain what you need to do next. We will also call and text you. If you haven’t received any communications from us it could be that your contact details are not up to date.
It is really important you receive messages from us. Please let us know if your email and / or mobile number changes and keep an eye out for emails / text messages and letters from us.

Subject: Important update for schools and colleges from Bradford College
Dear Colleague,
The Engagement Team at Bradford College would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that we are still available to support your students through these difficult times. We are still accepting applications and are continuing to work towards welcoming students, new and returning, to College in the next academic year. We have transformed our admissions service to reflect these uncertain times – all applicants will now get a named point of contact and regular (monthly) text messages, emails and phone calls from their named officer. Our new online application form (https://www.bradfordcollege.ac.uk/about/apply) will give them reassurance through the provision of an instant text message as soon as they apply.
We encourage you to ask your students to provide an email address that is not a school based one – this is to ensure we can keep in touch when they have left you. Finally we are working to give you summary information about your year groups so you know how many and who have applied.
The Engagement Team are currently working from home and we assure you we are also using this time to ensure our Progression Package offer to schools for next academic year is exciting, sustained and adaptable to meet the needs of your school.
We will aim to send regular updates to schools over the coming weeks containing helpful information and links, for your Year 11 and Year 13 students to help them prepare for their next steps. The team is currently working on exactly how this might look (possibly an online package of resources and career focused activities). If there is anything in particular that you (or your students) need please do not hesitate to contact me or a member of the Engagement Team and we will do our best to help.
Please share this communication with other colleagues in your school or college. (Apologies if you receive this email more than once, we are working to update and streamline our database of key contacts).
Best Wishes,
Charlotte Cooper-Nairn
