OIAMFS Sports Day 2023 - these are the days we will remember!
On Thursday 23rd July staff and students took part in their annual sports day, held at Horsfall Stadium, home of Bradford Park Avenue.
The sun shone and the competition flowed as students took part in a variety of track and field events, including 100m, 400m, triple jump, shot putt and javelin.
Students were awarded house points for both participating and coming in the top four.
It was a very close run competition with Ripley being victorious, winning by just ten points from a disappointed Bronte.
The highlight of the day was a whole school lap of the track in honour of Gurmit Chand who sadly passed away last year. The former One In A Million Charity staff member, was a community activator in the Manningham district and was a highly popular face amongst students and staff alike!
Gurmit’s brother attended the event and presented a trophy in his honour for ‘Outstanding Contribution’ to school life. The first winner of this award was Furaha M who always goes above and beyond what is expected of her.
The ‘Outstanding Contribution’ award will become a regular part of future end of term celebrations at OIAMFS.
