OIAMFS Students Participate In National Anti-Bullying Campaign At Woodhouse Grove School
On Thursday 17th October 2019, Miss Woodcock & Mr Rahman accompanied a group of KS4 students to an Anti-bullying course, which took place at Woodhouse Grove School. There were over 10 secondary schools from all over the country that attended this event, giving many enthusiastic students the opportunity to become Anti-Bullying Ambassadors for their school and communities.
The day started with all students, and staff, taking part in a number of team building/ice breaker sessions, which gave our students the opportunity to engage with other young people from around the country. Through out the day, our students were informed about many shocking facts and statistics surrounding all types of bullying, which made them even more determined to get their heads together and create new ideas and strategies of how they can play their part to spread awareness in our schools, communities, and nationally!
Our students remained focussed throughout the whole training course, and displayed great confidence in expressing their thoughts and opinions (on a microphone!) in front of over 100 people! They were exceptional representees of our school and thoroughly deserve a BIG well done!
The six students pictured above will now act as Anti-Bullying Ambassadors for our school.
The official National Anti-bullying Awareness week takes place between 11th-15th November 2019. Our Anti-bullying Ambassadors have created a plan regarding whole school activities that they would like to see happening during Awareness week. So, watch this space for updates on how OIAMFS are going to spread Awareness!
