We are delighted to announce that One In A Million Free School leaver Kingly-David Okafor has been awarded a full Sixth Form bursary place at the prestigious Woodhouse Grove School starting this September 2024!
Kingly will follow in the footsteps of previous bursary winners, which includes Hifza Imran (2023), Malikah Mahmood (2022), Mohiuddin Kabiri (2022), Tasmia Tayyibah (2021), and Rifqah Bibi (2021), Reece Hahn (2020) and Maria Zahid (2020), Abdullah Iiaz (2019), Samia Khatun (2019), Raihan Younis (2018), and Finn Payton (2018).
Read on to find out what Kingly had to say about his time at our school and his thoughts about his next destination:
“I started OIAM in year 9. I have really enjoyed my time at school. It is really friendly, and I’ve made good friendships and relationships with people there.
My favourite subject is PE. I love sport, in particular football. I have loved being outdoors for the practical lessons, which included PE at Woodhouse Grove School!
I feel excited about being awarded one of the bursaries at Woodhouse Grove School. I am proud that I was able to represent myself well in their selection of students.
This opportunity at Woodhouse Grove School gives me the chance to learn and try new things. It will advance me towards the career I would like to have. I would like to be involved in software engineering or software development”.
When asked what advice he would give to a new yr7 joining One In A Million school, Kingly answered;
“Every minute counts. Maintain high standards of discipline and integrity throughout your whole school experience, so that when you get to GCSEs the pressures are manageable.
Make every minute count”.
Congratulations Kingly! We are very proud of you. Always remember you are unique and valued. You are ‘one in a million’.
