THE BEST BY ‘PAR’! Thank you to the local business community for supporting our Charity Am/Am Golf Tournament.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our Annual One In A Million Summer Charity Am/Am Golf Tournament 2024 on Friday 9th August 2024, proudly sponsored by Azets and Lily.

We are thankful to all our 27 teams of four, from the local business community and members of Shipley Golf Club, who played 18 holes of competitive stableford golf in sunny yet windy conditions on an immaculately prepared golf course.

Much welcomed refreshments were served by our OIAM team at the Halfway House on the 10th Green, generously sponsored by Crucial Engineering.

Our Charity Hole on the day was on the 17th, which was expertly monitored by our OIAM trustees, Simeon Briggs and Mick Spratt. Thank you to all our guests who made a donation at this hole and throughout the course, your support significantly helped our fundraising on the day.

A great day was rounded off with our teams enjoying a meal and drinks on the terrace as our guests reflected on their rounds of brilliant shots and near misses. From the feedback received, a great day was had by everyone!

Following a great day's play, we gathered in the lounge for prize giving.

Congratulations to our prize winners in what was a closely fought contest;

  • 1st - Crucial Engineering, 88 pts
  • 2nd – Annex Solutions, 85 pts
  • 3rd – Simon George/Mortgage Advice Bureau, 84 pts
  • Longest Drive: Spencer Hunt, RPP
  • Nearest the Pin: Mark Hutchinson, Tite Fix

Chris Morrisey, Managing Director, Lily: “Once again, we were delighted to be invited to sponsor the One In A Million Golf Day at Shipley Golf Club - they should be congratulated on the course as it was in tip-top condition and an enjoyable challenge for all levels in our 3 Teams. A huge thank-you goes to Craig and OIAM team as well as the many volunteers who supported and organised the day. We all thoroughly enjoyed the golf, food and meeting other supporters and golfers. We had some close calls on the longest drive, were centimetres away from winning the ‘nearest the pin’ and at the end of the day were quite close in the points rankings, so all in all, it was a great event whilst raising funds for this fantastic cause. I’d just like to thank our staff for handing over their hard-earned cash in supporting this charity which are tackling some of the biggest social issues we have in our area. Well done all!”

Victoria Wainwright, Office Managing Partner, Azets: “We were, once again, proud to sponsor this years charity golf tournament. It was fantastic to see so many of the local business community coming together to enjoy a day of golf to help raise vital funds to support the work of One In A Million Charity. Our team in Bradford firmly believe in fostering a strong community spirit, and we are proud to support One In A Million and help play a role in supporting the next generation in our City”.

We would like to thank:

THANK YOU for your incredible support, which will help One In A Million continue to provide much needed quality sports, the arts & enterprise programmes for children & young people living in the disadvantaged communities of the Bradford District. Thank you for your valued generosity.

We look forward to seeing you next year!
