THANK YOU ROB CARR! Celebrating 17 years at OIAM
Today, we honour long-serving OIAM volunteer and employee Rob Carr as he finishes an incredible 17 years of dedication to our children and young people.
Rob first volunteered with OIAM in the early days of our Streetwise football project in 2007. Having grown up in Canterbury, his passion and love for his community shone through from day 1.
Over the years, Rob has continually been employed as our Community Activator for Canterbury, bringing consistency, dedication, and heart to the young people around him. He has been instrumental in growing our Canterbury Hub and programmes over the past 17 years. Last week's celebrations marked his last day as a OIAM employee as he steps into a new season focusing on his growing family.
Rob's impact has been astounding. Over the years, he has facilitated our:
- Kidz Clubs
- Youth Clubs
- Football Streetwise sessions
- Holiday Clubs
- Trips, Visits & Residentials
- Taster Courses & Development sessions.
Over 80% of the children Rob has supported during his time at OIAM live in the top 10% most deprived areas of Britain. 62% of those live in the top 2%.
Rob, you are ONE IN A MILLION through and through. As we heard from fellow staff members this morning, when we think of you, we think of your selflessness, resilience, & fathering heart. We sincerely thank you for your service to the children and young people of the Bradford District, and your unwavering dedication to the Canterbury community.
Wayne: "Rob, thank you for going the extra mile for the children and young people of the Bradford District!"
