A WEEK IN PICTURES! October Half-Term 2024
We've had a delightfully busy half-term, full of exciting trips and new experiences! Here's a snapshot of our week...
MONDAY:
On Monday, 8 young people ventured to Emerald Publishing for a fascinating World of Work trip. We spent the day engrossed in the publishing process; creating book concepts, designing covers, and pitching our ideas! We'd like to say a huge thanks to all the staff at Emerald for an inspiring day, which we rounded off with a trip to the bowling alley... work hard, play hard!

We were delighted to welcome PC Huss from West Yorkshire Police's 'Safer Communities Team' who our young people, informing them about knife crime and bonfire safety.

WEDNESDAY:
On Wednesday, 7 members of our Keighley Youth Voice split into 2 teams to tackle the notorious Escape Rooms at Time Trapped, Bradford. We are pleased to report that both teams successfully 'made it out' in time!
"Both groups managed to escape using teamwork, leadership skills, problem-solving techniques and thinking outside the box. Each participant's opinion was heard and valued. A thoroughly enjoyable experience." - David, OIAM Community Activator
THURSDAY:
On Thursday, 5 young people braved the cold and tried their hands (& feet!) at ice-skating; for many, a first time experience. It was so encouraging to see their progress as they grew in confidence, and witness their determination as they got back on their feet and tried again each time they fell. By the end of the trip they were gliding all the way around without the support of aids.
"I made it! Without the Snowman Aid! That was so fun!" - Emilia
FRIDAY:
On Friday, 11 of our children enjoyed an exhilarating excursion to Insane Air; a wonderful opportunity for exercise, fun, and letting off half-term steam! The youngsters had a blast on the inflatables and interactive games.
"It was a great experience where children could just be children and enjoy themselves." - David, OIAM
