OIAM Summer Walks Challenge - Have Your Day in The Sun Whilst Helping Others To Shine
5th April 2019. Join us for one of our fabulous annual Summer Walks Challenges in support of Bradford children and young people’s charity, One In A Million.
It's nearing that fun packed time of the year when our summer fundraising events commence! Show your support, pick a challenge and join us. We are looking for 80 participants to triumph over the beautiful OIAM Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge (Moderate), 15 to summit the stunning National 3 Peaks Challenge (Hard) or 12 bravehearts to conquer the breathtaking Welsh 3000’s Challenge (Extreme).
Take on a challenge whilst giving, either as a staff team, a group, with a friend or as an individual! Your participation and fundraising will help us continue our much-needed charitable activities for children and young people in some of Bradford’s most disadvantaged areas.

DATE: Saturday 8th June 2019 |
CHALLENGE: The Yorkshire 3 Peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Inglebrough are set in the beautiful countryside of the Yorkshire Dales. This exciting and rewarding challenge will see you covering approximately 24 miles in 12 hours and conquering Yorkshire’s 3 tallest peaks – what an achievement! A BBQ celebration awaits at the end of the walk where we get to share our summit stories. |
FOR WHO: Participants made up of teams or individuals with a reasonable fitness level. |
ITINERARY: All teams to meet at Horton In Ribblesdale at 06:30 for a prompt 07:00 start. Times will be recorded at the summits of each peak by our marshalls. Four drink stations on a marshaled route. Celebratory BBQ from 4pm. |
REGISTRATION: £35 per person to include: Event brief, fully marshaled route, t-shirt, map, certificate, refreshments at 4 checkpoints manned by OIAM Charity Staff, BBQ and first aid assistance. |
TARGET: To raise £250 per person (best effort). |

Join us for our WELSH 3000’s CHALLENGE - 15 Peaks in 24 hours across 33 miles.. |
DATE: Thursday 4th July – Saturday 6th July 2019 |
CHALLENGE: Conquer the breathtaking Welsh 3000’s Challenge in 24 hours. For the experienced walker, this challenge will see you climb 15 peaks over 3000 feet within the ranges of Snowdon, Glyder and Carnedd. |
FOR WHO: 12 Participants who have completed challenges previously that require stamina and mental endurance. |
INTINERARY: Departing from Bradford on Thursday 4th July at 14:00, we head for our Bunk Barn overnight accommodation in the Snowdonia region. Challenge commences on Friday 5th July 2019 at 04:00. We aim to complete the 15 peaks by Saturday 6th July 04:00 and return to Bradford by 08:00 (approximate timings). |
REGISTRATION: £150 per person to include: Return mini bus transport, bunk barn overnight accommodation, qualified mountain leader guides, maps, t-shirt, support vehicle and light refreshments. |

Join us for our National 3 Peaks Challenge - the ultimate UK Challenge in just 24 hours! [Spaces Are Limited]. |
Challenge: The stunning National 3 Peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowden) are the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales. The challenge is to climb each of these 3 peaks, one after the other, in 24 hours! |
A total climb of 42km in 24 hours with travel between 3 counties. |
Location: Ben Nevis Scotland (4411ft) Scafell Pike England (3209ft) Snowdon Wales (3720ft) |
For Who?: 16 Participants with good fitness levels |
Itinerary: Meet at One In A Million, Cliffe Terrace, BD8 7DX on Friday 13th September at 10.00am for travel to Scotland. Overnight stay in Fort William. Start our 24-hour N3P Challenge on Saturday 14th September at 08.30am. Return back to Bradford on Sunday 15th September at approximately 12noon. |
Registration: £100 per person to include: Return mini bus transport across 3 countries from start to finish point, overnight accommodation in Fort Williams Scotland, fully qualified mountain leaders guided route, basic refreshments at checkpoints, training schedule and event brief, T-Shirt. |
