Turn Up the Heat: Cook & Eat Development's Special Project
During autumn, the young people in our Cook & Eat Development Centre enjoyed a masterclass as part of the Bradford Curry Festival!
Cook & Eat is one of the most popular Development Centres here at One In A Million, attended by our children from Manningham, Windhill, South Bradford, and Canterbury. The combination of trying new things, building confidence, learning key life skills, and delicious food is certainly appealing.
This term, we enjoyed a special treat as renowned local chef, Nazrul Islam, joined us as guest instructor for 2 sessions! Kindly sponsored by BEAP Community Partnership, chef Nazrul taught us how to make authentic curry.
The whole experience was filmed specially by the young people from our Multi-Media Development Centre, coached by Gary and Masood of MAK Digital.
It was an incredibly exciting project that has captivated our young people and inspired their confidence as Cook & Eat, and Multi-Media Development Centres continue on.
We'd like to take this opportunity to say special thank you to chef Nazrul and team, BEAP Community Partnership, and MAK Digital for your time, effort, and enthusiasm.
"The project was a great success. The young people blossomed throughout the session, and the excitement in the room was tangible. I'd like to say a big thanks on behalf of One In A Million to all the partners who were involved in making these sessions a roaring success. Our youngsters will remember this for a long time to come." - Christian Allsworth, OIAM.
