Initially, she came to meet with One In A Million  community activator, Charlotte Stuart, who was also her mentor and coach for Bradford City Girls football team. At the time, Charlotte was leading a One In A Million Kidz Club session and Rhianna was only expected to pop in to see her for 5 mins. Instantly, she began interacting with the children, many whom she knew by living in the same neighbourhood as them. Their admiration for this confident young teenager was telling. Even as they were leaving the premises, she walked alongside the children and their parents laughing, encouraging and joking with them. It was clear Rhianna shared our charity values.

From that moment onwards, we created a personal development plan to engage Rhianna as a volunteer. She dually obliged and quickly moved to implementation. Rhianna loves the community she lives in and the community loves her. She is a role model to her peers and a credit to herself and her loving family who are very supportive of the pathways One In A Million have provided for her.

Rhianna is learning to mature as a morale and responsible citizen. She exemplifies the OIAM core values. As an active volunteer she is playing her part to make a difference in the lives of other children. Her natural instinct is to get alongside them and engage them in activities through her warm words, infectious smile and laughter. She brings out the best in people.

Having finished school with good grades, she has now progressed to sign for the Bradford City Football In The Community, Football & Education programme. Her dream is to become a professional footballer. Our hope and passion is that whatever Rhianna goes onto achieve, she do so, to the best of her ability, whilst always adding value to other people.

Congratulations Rhianna, we celebrate you and your achievements. You are the deserving winner of this years One In A Million Award 2017.
